Casino & Gaming API Architecture — How It Works
Updated August 2026 · 14 min read · With diagrams & integration flow
A modern casino / gaming API is not one product — it’s a stack. Operator frontend, aggregator, RGS, wallet, PSP, KYC and provider studios all talk to each other in milliseconds. This guide walks through the exact architecture GamingAPI uses in production, with diagrams for every layer and the seamless-wallet integration flow.
1. High-level architecture
The operator only integrates with one API (the aggregator). The aggregator handles everything downstream — provider connections, game launches, wallet, settlement.
2. The core components
- Operator Frontend — casino site / APK the player sees. Renders the lobby, cashier, KYC.
- Operator Backend — owns the player wallet, KYC, bonuses, responsible-gaming limits.
- Aggregator (GamingAPI) — one API that abstracts 100+ studios; handles launch URLs, session tokens, callbacks, reporting.
- RGS (Remote Gaming Server) — the studio’s server that runs the game math & RNG.
- Wallet Service — single source of truth for player balance (seamless or transfer).
- PSP / Payment Gateway — deposits & withdrawals via local rails, cards, USDT.
- KYC / AML — identity, PEP/sanctions, geo & device checks.
- Reporting & BI — GGR, NGR, RTP, cohort analytics.
3. Seamless wallet flow (the most important diagram)
In a seamless wallet model, the player’s balance stays in the operator’s wallet. Every spin, the provider calls the operator through the aggregator to debitthe bet and credit the win in real time. No pre-funded game wallet, no reconciliation lag.
Key property: the operator wallet is always authoritative. If the debit fails (insufficient balance, freeze, KYC block), the spin never happens — no reconciliation nightmare, no negative balance edge cases.
4. Deposit & withdrawal flow
5. API endpoints you’ll actually call
| Method | Endpoint | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| POST | /v1/game/launch | Get iframe URL + session token |
| GET | /v1/games | List all games (5,000+) with metadata |
| GET | /v1/providers | List all studios & their status |
| POST | /v1/wallet/callback | Receive debit/credit from provider |
| GET | /v1/reports/ggr | GGR, NGR, spin counts by day/game |
| POST | /v1/rounds/rollback | Reverse a round (network failure recovery) |
| GET | /v1/health | Per-provider latency & uptime |
6. Integration timeline
- Day 0–3 — Sign NDA, get sandbox credentials, whitelist IPs.
- Day 3–10 — Implement
/wallet/callback(debit, credit, rollback, balance). - Day 10–14 — Build game lobby with
/v1/games+ launch URLs. - Day 14–21 — Integrate PSP + KYC on your side; test USDT deposits.
- Day 21–28 — Load test (500 RPS+), signature verification, idempotency.
- Day 28–30 — Production keys, DNS, go live.
7. Security & reliability
- HMAC-SHA256 signed callbacks — every request from GamingAPI to your wallet is signed.
- Idempotency keys on every debit/credit so a network retry never double-charges.
- Sub-100ms p95 from the nearest edge (US-East, EU-West, SG, ME).
- Automatic round rollback when the provider doesn’t ack a debit within 5s.
- PCI-DSS & GDPR compliant infrastructure; TLS 1.3 everywhere.
8. Seamless vs. Transfer wallet — which to pick?
Seamless is the default in 2026. Use transfer wallet only if your legacy platform can’t expose a callback endpoint. Read the deep-dive: Seamless Wallet vs Transfer Wallet.
